Sole People was an outdoor installation created from beachcombed shoes.

Approximately 65 shoes in a range of styles and states of decomposition were transformed into Sole People using an astonishing array of other plastic marine litter to create hair, features and accessories. The Sole People heads sat atop metal rods of varying lengths.

The aim of the installation, which was on display on the sea front in Herne Bay, Kent for the month of August 2017, was to highlight the issue of marine litter and its effect on both our immediate and wider environments.

Plans are now underway for the return of Sole People in August 2018.
