about me

I am a beachcomber artist/maker, working with beachcombed litter found mainly on a mile stretch of beach very close to my home studio, I also use other street-combed/found and recycled materials in my work.

As an environmentalist I do also occasionally work with other materials, such as (roman) concrete and ice in order to raise awareness of environmental issues.

I am a great admirer of and greatly influenced by the work of Kurt Schwitters, Robert Rauschenberg and Tadek Beutlich.

Much of my work is collage type assemblages, but I also enjoy making sculptural pieces and experimental weaving's, often working on quite large scale items including installations.

As a self taught artist I enjoy encouraging others to explore their creativity through workshops and community projects and have wide experience as a workshop facilitator and project coordinator.
